There are many things I like about Reflexology, but the thing I like the most is that it works. “What does that mean,” my friends will ask. “Does reflexology work? How does it work, what does it do?” Well, like many people, I have aches and pains, and a couple of chronic “hot spots” that seem to flare up from time to time.
My neck and left shoulder can sometimes cause me a lot of pain.
The lower back area, especially around the Holidays.
Headaches. I’ve always had headaches.
General overall jitters, or stress. (Which I blame on too much coffee)
Here are the things I did BEFORE trying Reflexology:
Neck/Shoulder: I went to doctors, physical therapy, tried many creams and topical solutions.
Back: Doctors, x-rays, again more topical creams and solutions, along with over the counter pain medication.
Headaches: These were the most crippling. I had prescription medication I would take at the first sign of a headache.
Jitters: I really just took that as being naturally high strung, and didn’t do much about it.
At the urging of a friend, I made an appointment with you (Sole to Soul) and was surprised at the results. During the first few minutes I could feel that I was tense and nervous about getting Reflexology, but that only lasted a short time.
Once I relaxed and really let the treatment do its thing, I recognized how tense and jittery I was. I did not realize how much stress I was holding in my body! Quite honestly, I didn’t feel anything but calm. I thought I would be very weirded out by someone touching my feet, but I didn’t notice much of that at all, it just felt really good. When the treatment ended, I felt like I just woke up from a very restful sleep. I noticed immediately that much of the tension in my shoulder was gone. I’m sure a lot of my aches and pains are coming from ME! From being so tense all the time. I would have never known that, if I didn’t start getting Reflexology.
I can’t tell you exactly HOW it works, but it is making a marked difference in the areas I mentioned, and in my overall ability to relax. I would have never thought to try Reflexology, I’d actually never heard of it… but I’m really glad I did!
